EPI
EPI is a peer-led practice of presencing — being with one’s own sensations, emotions, and wants, and returning from reactivity to choice. The practice is body-centered, learnable, and meant to be carried by ordinary practitioners rather than by professionals or credentialed leaders.
This site is the fellowship’s working depot. It holds three things:
- What we do — the tools we practice, the forms we practice in, the Inner Map that orients us.
- What we hold true — the Guiding Principles, the constitutional layer the practice answers to.
- How we organize ourselves — peer-led, donation-based, designed to outlast any institution including EPI itself.
This is a working depot, not a finished book
EPI is being built in public. The depot you are reading was opened in 2026 to give the four people stewarding the work a stable organizer for the framings, principles, and tools they are converging on. Most of what you’ll find is honestly labeled with its status:
- ratified / canonical / active — settled. The team has converged. Treat as gospel.
- under-review — close to solid, not yet locked.
- candidate / proposed — alive and in contention; multiple candidates for the same thing may coexist side-by-side.
- waning — still held, losing favor, no replacement chosen yet.
- superseded — kept for lineage; the team chose differently.
- needs-export / needs-drafting — placeholder; the canonical content exists elsewhere or is yet to be written.
You will see “under-review” on most of the Guiding Principles today. You
will see “needs-export” on most of the deep-dive tools. This is the
honest state of the work — not a polished finish. The convention is
load-bearing: when you read a page, look at its status. A canonical
tool and a needs-export stub are different categories of trust.
If you’d like to understand why the wiki is built this way, see purpose.md and the glossary.
A few good entry points
For a sense of the practice itself:
- The Inner Map — the canonical orientation diagram. Reactive Brain / Creative Brain, Power Over / Power Under / Evolutionary Power, the Bridge.
- SEW — the core practice move: Sensation, Emotion, Want.
- The Six Facets — the value set the practice develops.
For a sense of the fellowship:
- The Guiding Principles — what must remain true. Twenty-two statements, currently under review.
- The Safe Harbor statement — the opening every EPI meeting reads. Establishes what the room is and isn’t.
- Why peer-led, no professional class — a resolved fork in the fellowship’s history; the case for the direction we chose.
For a sense of where the team is right now:
What this site is not
This is not a treatment program. It is not therapy. It is not a religion, though the practice is spiritual. It is not a paid product or training. The peer-led commitment is structural and intentional — see Principle 11 and the resolved fork on why we chose this way.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please seek professional support.
Last build: see commit history. Everything you read here is generated from a markdown vault the fellowship maintains together; what’s on the site today reflects the state of that vault at the last push.
