Principle 18: Carry the Message by Practicing

We carry the message by presencing with ourselves in front of one another. The practice working in our own lives is the offer; it is not promoted, sold, or pitched.

Commentary

The act of carrying the message and the act of practicing are the same act — viewed from inside it is the practice; viewed from outside it carries the message. The “offer” to anyone watching is the practice working in a real person’s life, not a description of the practice.

Status notes

v3, ready for team review. Will be referenced by the Carry the Message document (named by the System Map; needs drafting — see carry-the-message).

Source inline note (drift — labels this “17”): “makes explicit that the act of carrying the message and the act of practicing are the same act — viewed from inside it is the practice; viewed from outside it carries the message. This ties the Practice document and the Carry the Message document together structurally.”

Source confirmations

v5 strategy draft (raw/EPI_Expansion_Strategy_v5.docx.md) is an independent source asserting the same content. Section “The four pillars (Service)”: “You keep this practice by giving it away … Service is not charity — it’s how you stay in the practice and how the practice stays alive.”

This is archival corroboration — a different voice and a different context arriving at the same statement. Worth noting for the eventual ratification pass.
